Practical help. Everyday skills. Greater independence at home.
Independence isn’t something that happens overnight. It’s something you build, one meal, routine and new skill at a time - and the right support at home can make everyday life feel more manageable.

Sound familiar?
If any of these ring true, this page is for you - or for someone you care for.
- The washing pile wins more weeks than you do, and it’s wearing you down
- You can do plenty of it yourself - you’d just like someone alongside for the parts that are hard
- Cooking for one feels like more effort than it’s worth, so dinner keeps being toast
- You’ve had help that just did everything for you - and you’d rather build the skills to run things yourself
- You’re keeping two households running for someone you care for, and something has to give
Your list. Your order.
Wherever possible, we involve you in the task so you can build confidence, develop skills and have a say in how things are done. That might mean:
- Planning meals together
- Writing a shopping list
- Preparing part of a meal
- Learning how to use the washing machine
- Creating a simple cleaning routine
- Organising your room or belongings
- Practising one part of a task until it becomes more familiar
The detail, in plain English
What can help at home look like?
- Light household cleaning
- Laundry and changing linen
- Meal planning and preparation
- Grocery shopping
- Organising household routines
- Tidying shared and personal spaces
- Building confidence using household appliances
- Developing practical skills for living more independently
Which part of my plan pays for this?
Help with household tasks is funded from your Core Supports budget - it appears in NDIS plans as "Assistance with Daily Life", and the formal support category is "Household Tasks". If it’s in your plan, it’s included - and if you’re not sure, ask us and we’ll help you check. How pricing works.
Will you do it for me, or with me?
Wherever possible, with you. There may be times when you need your support worker to complete some household tasks for you. This may be appropriate when:
- A task cannot be completed safely without assistance
- Your mobility or health makes participation difficult
- Completing the task would cause unnecessary distress or exhaustion
- You need immediate practical help to keep your home safe and comfortable
- Your support plan identifies that direct assistance is required
We will still listen to your preferences and complete the task in a way that respects your home, belongings and routines. The goal is not to take over. It is to provide the right balance of practical help and skill-building for you.
Can I change my list?
Any week, for any reason, without notice or explanation. The list is yours - if window week becomes cooking week, that’s the plan now.
Can I choose who comes into my home?
Yes - it’s your home. We match support workers to you, and if someone isn’t the right fit, say so and we’ll talk through a change.
