Daily Personal Support

Daily support shaped around you.

Everyday support is not only about getting through the day. It can help you build the skills, confidence and routines that make greater independence possible - and it should fit your routines, your preferences and the way you want to live.

Is this you?

Sound familiar?

If any of these ring true, this page is for you - or for someone you care for.

  • Mornings take longer than they used to, and you'd rather not spend them rushing
  • You want help with showering or dressing - from someone who asks how you like things done
  • Meals keep defaulting to whatever's easiest, not what you actually feel like
  • You've had support workers who take over - and you're done with that
  • You're supporting someone every day, and a reliable extra pair of hands would change a lot
Support shaped around your day

A day, your way

No two days look the same, because you’re the one writing yours. Here is one shape a day with support can take - every part of it optional, every part of it yours to reorder.

  1. Morning

    A steady start

Showering, dressing and your morning routine, then getting ready for appointments, work or community activities - unhurried, and in whatever order suits you.

Shower first or breakfast first - your call.

  2. Midday

    Meals, medication and moving about

Preparing meals and drinks, medication prompting and moving safely around your home - plus whatever the day calls for: an errand, a walk, a visit or a proper rest.

Lunch made together or made for you - your call.

  3. Afternoon

Building on what you can do

Building confidence completing everyday tasks, and establishing routines that support your health and wellbeing - at your pace.

Practise something new or keep it easy today - your call.

  4. Evening

    Winding down well

Dinner, an evening routine that feels like yours, and getting set up for a good night.

Early night or one more episode - your call.

With you, not instead of you

Wherever possible, we work with you rather than simply doing everything for you. That might mean preparing a meal together, helping you choose what to wear, creating a morning routine you can follow or supporting you to complete more of a task independently.

On days when you need more help, we can adjust the level of support around you. Your choices remain at the centre of your support.

The fine print

The detail, in plain English

What can support workers help with?
  • Showering, dressing and personal routines
  • Preparing meals and drinks
  • Medication prompting
  • Morning and evening routines
  • Moving safely around your home
  • Getting ready for appointments, work or community activities
  • Building confidence completing everyday tasks
  • Establishing routines that support your health and wellbeing
Which part of my plan pays for this?

Support with daily personal activities is funded from your Core Supports budget - it appears in NDIS plans as "Assistance with Daily Life" (you may also see the formal term "Assistance with Self-Care Activities"). If it's in your plan, it's included. How pricing works.

Can I choose my support worker?

Yes. Tell us what matters to you in a support worker and we’ll match you on that. If someone isn’t the right fit, say so and we’ll talk through a change. Who comes into your home is always your decision.

What if I only need help on some days?

That's how most support works. Mornings only, a few days a week, or every day - your supports fit around your week, and when life changes, the schedule changes with you.

Do the same workers come each time?

Routines work better with people you know, so we aim for consistency wherever we can - and we introduce any new worker to you properly before they start.
